Our work

IMPLEMENTATION OF OUR OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote knowledge and awareness of the history, culture, and experience of Tanzania AND the African Historic Diaspora:

    1. Host film screenings – documentaries/docu-drama/movies – where we annotate, review, and discuss the films’ contribution to cultural awareness on both sides of the ocean;
    2. Support local art spaces through events, projects and other contributions;
    3. Provide Swahili lessons to the Repats; generate newsletter articles on the history of Tanzania.
  2. To promote and operationalize the values, principles and goals of Pan Africanism.

    1. Contribute to the unification of Africa in various ways, including, sharing positive images and stories of Africa and specifically Tanzania;
    2. Actively promote Africa for Africans at home and abroad by participating in Pan African events across Africa representing Tanzania and the Historic Diaspora;
    3. Provide consultations to people who are moving to Tanzania on – preparing to move, getting here, settling in (where to stay/housing/school/work); understanding the Permits & Visa system; 
    4. providing avenues for the Repats to participate in community service activities.
  3. To advocate for broad based Pan African participation to benefit Tanzania in the health, education, trade, and tourism sectors.

    1. Create relationships with people, and institutions around the world (where African people are) – to directly work on projects on the ground;
    2. Adopt a School – support schools and the education agenda indirectly, and enhance Critical Thinking activities in schools; 
    3. Work with Pan African institutions by providing awareness of what some needs are and ways it can be met by the Global African Family;
    4. Host workshops on health & wellness, and provide wholistic mental and physical health events partnering with local providers;
    5. Vet local projects for foreign investors and advise them, partner with local service providers to support the projects.
    6. Contribute to Safi Day, Tanzania’s national environmental program, to clean up our communities by – conducting beach clean up activity. In addition, create & fund recycling initiatives, training and support in monetizing the 3 Rs.
  4. To facilitate the transfer of technology and technological innovation to be financed by the African Diaspora to the benefit of Tanzanians.

    1. Use the skills and experience of the Repats to train Tanzanians in Tech;
    2. Support Startup initiatives with business training and fund innovation projects;
    3. To support Women In Tech initiatives via partnerships with local and foreign institutions – ensure that the high schools we work with have access to the internet and Tech hardware via support from HBCUs, and other groups.
  5. To identify, access and facilitate investment from untapped resources of the African Diaspora as well as other traditional sources.

    1. Organize, host, and participate in trade and investment conferences and forums;
    2. Provide local vetting services for investment from abroad; and
    3. Use our connections to assist direct investments from the Global African Family institutions.  
  6. To enhance the strategic plan to make the AU-Diasporan connection a successful, permanent one that will add realistic value to the principles and goals of Agenda 2063.

    1. Become an active member of ECOSOCC
    2. Participate where possible in the activities of the various REC
    3. Participate in EAC activities and events.
  7. To empower the local communities via grassroots projects, showing the positive value of the Diasporan contributions to the world, that will have long-lasting and inspirational impact in Tanzania.


    As we move forward, our intention is to grow the membership with the Repats on the ground, align with other organizations that have similar vision/mission/objectives, participate in activities that will extend our voice beyond Tanzania and contribute to the global advocacy of Repatriation for those who wish to move to Africa. With the goal of real integration of the 6th Region of Africa, the African Diaspora – the unification of all Africans.
